Key Responsibilities
- Research & Development (R&D) and Product Innovation
- Drive initiatives for new product development and process enhancements.
- Conduct trials, experiments, and competitor analysis to improve product quality.
- Collaborate with marketing and operations to align product improvements with market needs.
Process Optimization and Cost Efficiency
- Perform trials for new chemicals and alternative solutions to optimize processes.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction while maintaining or enhancing quality standards.
Customer Interaction and Issue Resolution
- Serve as the primary contact for customer communication regarding quality issues.
- Address customer complaints with thorough root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Provide technical support and conduct proactive market visits to strengthen customer relationships.
Quality Assurance and Control
- Ensure quality checks for raw materials, in-process products, and final outputs according to established plans.
- Authorize the release of products after thorough quality assurance.
- Implement and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS).
Testing, Calibration, and Compliance
- Analyze test results for raw materials, chemicals, packaging, and final products.
- Coordinate calibration and validation of testing instruments, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Recommend and manage the adoption of advanced testing technologies.
Documentation and Compliance
- Prepare and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Quality Plans, and product specifications.
- Maintain and verify Quality and Traceability Records, ensuring alignment with statutory requirements.
Audit Management and Quality Standards Implementation
- Conduct internal and external quality audits, including customer and compliance reviews.
- Implement industry standards and regulatory requirements across operations.
Supplier and External Coordination
- Lead supplier quality improvement initiatives and manage supplier relationships.
- Coordinate external testing activities and liaise with instrument suppliers and service providers.
Product and Process Development
- Undertake product design, development, validation, and trials for new product launches.
- Work on external pulp, chemical, and paper development projects with comprehensive testing and reporting.
Team Management and Development
- Plan manpower requirements for the quality and R&D teams.
- Conduct training programs, performance reviews, and employee development initiatives.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Utilize techniques like Statistical Process Control (SPC), data charting, and Gauge R&R to analyze processes and products.
- Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure quality and efficiency.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with customers, internal stakeholders, and government officials to ensure smooth operations.
Key Skills and Expertise
- Strong knowledge of the paper industry, in Speciality Products
- Expertise in testing procedures and process audits within the recycled paper segment.
- Proficiency in quality tools, data analysis, and documentation.
- Ability to lead and motivate teams while ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
