PRO Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with industry journalists, trade publications, and industry influencers.
- Prepare and distribute press releases, media kits, and other PR materials specific to the paper industry.
- Organize and coordinate press conferences, interviews, and industry-related media events.
- Monitor media coverage within the industry and manage media inquiries.
- Develop and implement crisis communication plans, particularly around issues like environmental impact, safety incidents, and regulatory changes.
- Serve as the spokesperson during crises or sensitive situations.
- Monitor industry sentiment and address potential issues proactively.
- Write and edit speeches, articles, and technical content for senior management and industry events.
- Manage the company’s social media presence, focusing on sustainability, innovation, and industry leadership.
- Create content for newsletters, internal communications, and industry-specific publications.
- Plan and execute public and industry-specific events, such as product launches, corporate events, and community outreach programs.
- Coordinate logistics, including venue selection, catering, and guest management, with a focus on sustainability.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, community leaders, and regulatory bodies.
- Conduct surveys and gather feedback from stakeholders to inform PR strategies, especially concerning environmental impact and industry trends.
- Ensure consistent messaging across all communication channels, particularly around sustainability initiatives and environmental responsibility.
- Collaborate with marketing and sustainability teams to align PR efforts with overall brand and environmental strategy.
Reports & Reporting to
- Track and report on the effectiveness of PR campaigns, with a focus on sustainability and industry impact.
- Analyze media coverage and public sentiment within the paper industry to adjust strategies as needed.
- Provide regular reports to senior management on PR activities and outcomes.
Key Requirments
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in public relations within the paper industry or a similar manufacturing sector.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle crisis situations with poise.
- Proficiency in social media platforms and digital communication tools.
- Knowledge of sustainability practices and environmental regulations within the paper industry is an asset.
- Experience in event planning and management within the industry.
- Familiarity with content management systems and graphic design software.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with media and key industry stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills to measure the impact of PR activities.
- This position may require occasional travel to industry events or production sites.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, during major events or crises
