Key Responsibilities

1. Research & Development (R&D) and Product Improvement

• Drive R&D initiatives for new product development and enhancements.
• Conduct trials, experiments, and comparative studies of competitors’ products and samples in collaboration with the Marketing department.

2. Process Optimization and Cost Reduction

• Perform trials for new chemicals or substitutions, aiming to improve processes and reduce costs.

3. Quality Monitoring and Communication

• Share critical updates about production programs, operational changes, and quality specifications with all relevant stakeholders.

4. Testing and Specification Management

• Analyze test results for raw materials, chemicals, packaging, in-process, and final products to update specifications as needed.
• Ensure timely calibration and performance assessment of testing instruments and recommend replacements with advanced technologies when required.

5. Quality Audits and Documentation

• Periodically review internal quality audit reports and departmental quality records.
• Manage document control, ensuring updates are implemented location-wise.

6. Customer and Market Engagement

• Troubleshoot quality-related issues and provide technical support to customers.
• Address customer complaints efficiently and organize proactive market visits with actionable follow-ups.

7. Compliance and Standards Implementation

• Implement relevant standards, management systems, and legal or statutory requirements applicable to the company.

8. Stakeholder and Government Liaison

• Build strong relationships with stakeholders and government officials to facilitate smooth operations.

9. Team Management and Development

• Plan manpower requirements for QA & PD teams and focus on their training and development.
• Set goals, conduct performance reviews, and implement HR initiatives like Individual Development Plans (IDPs) and Employee Satisfaction Surveys (ESS).

QC Job Requirements

1. Knowledge and Expertise

• In-depth understanding of product specifications for Writing & Printing, Tissue, MG varieties, and Newsprint.
• Familiarity with the paper machine process, converting section (Sheet Cutter), fibrous raw materials, and chemicals.

2. Testing Proficiency

• Updated knowledge of testing procedures specific to the paper industry, particularly in the recycled paper business.

3. Specialization

• Expertise in Writing & Printing, Newsprint, and MG varieties.

4. Analytical and Reporting Skills

• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
• Ability to develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure Quality & Efficiency (Q&E) performance.
