JOB DESCRIPTION:

As an Instrumentation Engineer, you will be responsible for supervising, executing, and monitoring the operations and maintenance of electronic instruments and control systems in the pulp and paper production process, with a focus on ensuring optimal efficiency and reliability.

1. Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
   • Supervise and troubleshoot instrumentation systems, including Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
   • Execute planned preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and shutdown maintenance for instrumentation equipment.
2. Monitoring and Reporting:
   • Monitor instrumentation performance and draft breakdown, corrective, and preventive action plans.
   • Prepare maintenance schedules and coordinate shutdowns for calibrations and replacements.
   • Ensure compliance with standards like ISO 9000, ISO 14000, and OHSAS 18000.
3. Process Optimization:
   • Analyze and interpret data from sensors, flow meters, and control valves to enhance system efficiencies.
   • Recommend and implement process modifications and equipment calibrations to improve operations.
4. Project Management:
   • Handle project activities, including requirement assessment, resource allocation, and ensuring timely project completion.
   • Assist in maintenance planning and departmental budget preparation.
   • Provide technical support for spares and equipment procurement.
5. Documentation and Compliance:
   • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, calibration data, and equipment history.
   • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and statutory regulations.
   • Prepare reports, including MIS and other operational updates, for senior management.
6. Safety and Standards:
   • Conduct and support internal audits and safety audits.
   • Maintain and schedule safety features, ensuring adherence to health and environmental policies.
7. Team Leadership:
   • Supervise and guide the team in performing instrumentation-related duties.
   • Coordinate with other departments to implement engineering plans and modifications effectively.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong technical knowledge of instrumentation systems used in the paper industry.
• Expertise in DCS, PLCs, sensors, control valves, and automation concepts.
• Experience with calibration and maintenance of industrial instruments.
• Familiarity with statutory compliance and system communication protocols.
• Ability to implement energy-efficient solutions and process optimizations.
• Proficiency in MIS reporting systems and data interpretation.
• Knowledge of safety standards and experience conducting safety audits.
