Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot instrumentation equipment such as sensors, transmitters, actuators, and control valves.
  • Program, design, and modify PLC, DCS, and Industrial Computer Network Systems.
  • Commission and operate all Control & Instrumentation (C&I) systems and related components.
  • Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) for instrumentation and automation projects.
  • Support installation and integration of new instrumentation systems with existing infrastructure.
  • Review and provide input on C&I engineering documentation, loop diagrams, and control philosophy documents.
  • Ensure compliance with instrumentation specifications, standards, and safety regulations.
  • Monitor and analyze process data to identify opportunities for optimization and automation.
  • Configure and troubleshoot communication protocols such as Profibus DP/PA, Profinet, and Ethernet/IP.
  • Collaborate with electrical and mechanical teams to ensure system-wide reliability and performance.
  • Maintain a clean and organized instrumentation workshop as per 5S standards.
  • Support predictive and preventive maintenance planning for instrumentation systems.

Instrumentation Job Requirements

  • Experience in Control and Instrumentation procurement, installation, and commissioning.
  • Strong knowledge of PLCs and DCS systems (preferably Siemens, Rockwell Automation/Allen Bradley, or Mitsubishi).
  • Experience with DCS databases, HMI configuration, and software troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP).
  • Understanding of local standards such as SANS and OSHA (advantageous).
  • Demonstrated ability to work with E&I consultants and contractors.
  • Problem-solving mindset and strong analytical capabilities.
  • Good communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for support and project needs.
