Key Responsibilities

• Review and interpret tender documents, technical specifications, mechanical drawings, and scope details related to piping networks, tank fabrication, and fire-fighting systems.
• Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimations, including BOQs, material take-offs, labour assessments, and fabrication/installation cost breakdowns using advanced Excel functions.
• Develop complete techno-commercial offers, proposals, and quotations in Excel and Word, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with client requirements.
• Interact and coordinate with internal departments such as procurement, design, project execution, and quality teams to gather cost inputs, technical clarifications, and vendor quotations.
• Perform online bid submissions across various tender portals, ensuring strict compliance with submission formats, documentation requirements, and tender deadlines.
• Analyse project drawings to understand scope, identify discrepancies, plan optimised material usage, and clearly highlight deviations, assumptions, or alternative solutions.
• Participate in pre-bid and post-bid meetings with clients or internal teams, providing estimation insights and technical clarifications to support negotiation and decision-making.
• Build, update, and manage structured costing databases, price libraries, vendor rate lists, and benchmark cost sheets to improve the accuracy of future estimations.
• Work closely with the sales and business development teams to support tender pipeline planning, bid strategy, and pricing optimisation.
• Evaluate supplier quotations, compare technical and commercial points, and prepare comparative statements to finalise accurate costing.
• Prepare specialised technical offers for emerging sectors such as BioCNG plants, gas handling systems, and sustainable energy projects, where applicable.
• Ensure all estimations follow internal standards, comply with statutory requirements, and are aligned with the organisation’s commercial guidelines.
• Maintain meticulous documentation for all bids, submissions, and revisions for future reference and audit purposes.

Estimation Engineer Job Key Skills Requirments

• Strong mathematics background with advanced Excel proficiency.
• Ability to read, interpret, and analyse mechanical drawings and piping layouts.
• Knowledge of piping systems, tanks, and fire-fighting equipment.
• Experience in mechanical estimation and quotation preparation.
• Familiarity with tendering procedures and online bid submission portals.
• Strong English communication skills (written & spoken).
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD (preferred).
• Exposure to estimation for BioCNG or related gas-processing projects (advantageous).
