Electrical Jobs In Steel Industry Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance and Repair

  1. Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance for critical electrical equipment, including:
  2. Motors (AC/DC) for cutting, bending, and straightening machines.
  3. Transformers and control panels for power distribution.
  4. Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) for motor speed control.
  5. Contactors, circuit breakers, and power cables for safe and efficient operation.
  6. Crane control systems for material handling and rebar lifting.
  7. Induction heating systems for steel bar heating processes.

Process Automation and Optimization

  1. Manage and program PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) to improve automation and streamline production.
  2. Integrate and maintain sensors for monitoring process parameters like temperature, vibration, and bar position.
  3. Optimize electrical drives and motors to ensure smooth, energy-efficient operation of machinery.

Power Distribution Management:

  1. Monitor and maintain transformers, ensuring proper voltage levels for machinery and operations.
  2. Oversee the design and troubleshooting of control panels to improve safety and reliability.
  3. Conduct load analysis to balance power distribution and prevent overloading.

Quality Control and Safety

  1. Implement safety measures such as overload protection, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and compliance with industry standards.
  2. Ensure electrical systems and components meet durability requirements for harsh environments, including dust, moisture, and vibration resistance.
  3. Regularly inspect and test equipment to uphold operational safety and quality standards.

Documentation and Reporting

  1. Maintain comprehensive records of maintenance schedules, repairs, and upgrades.
  2. Generate reports on equipment performance, downtime analysis, and corrective actions.
  3. Update electrical schematics and diagrams for reference during troubleshooting or upgrades.

Collaboration and Training

  1. Work closely with mechanical engineers and production teams to resolve operational challenges.
  2. Provide technical guidance to maintenance staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and safety protocols.
  3. Organize training programs for technicians to enhance their knowledge of electrical systems.

Electrical Jobs In Steel Industry Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  2. 3–7 years of experience in electrical maintenance within the steel or heavy manufacturing industry.
  3. Expertise in motor-driven machinery, VFDs, transformers, and control panels.
  4. Hands-on experience with PLC programming and automation systems.
  5. Proficiency in electrical fault analysis and diagnostics.
  6. Familiarity with induction heating systems and crane control systems.
  7. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  8. Effective communication and team collaboration skills.
  9. Attention to detail and adherence to safety standards.
