Design Engineer Job

Design Engineer Job will be responsible for preparing detailed engineering drawings, layouts, isometrics, and fabrication documents for multiple industrial applications. The role demands strong mechanical fundamentals, AutoCAD proficiency, teamwork, and the ability to produce accurate engineering deliverables with precision.

Our client is seeking a Design Engineer – Mechanical with strong expertise in AutoCAD and industrial design fundamentals to support detailed engineering deliverables across fire-fighting systems, piping engineering, and storage tank detailing.

Key Responsibilities

1.Engineering Drawings & Drafting

• • Prepare detailed fire-fighting system layouts including:
  • Hydrant system
  • HVWS (High Velocity Water Spray)
  • MVWS (Medium Velocity Water Spray)
  • Fire alarm layouts
• Develop industrial piping layouts, isometric drawings, pump house arrangements, and pipe rack detailing.
• Create API 650 tank general arrangement (GA) drawings, nozzle schedules, fabrication drawings, and plate development drawings.
• Produce power plant piping drawings, utility layouts, and equipment connectivity diagrams.
• Perform material take-offs (MTOs) for procurement and supply.

2. Engineering Calculations

• Perform hydraulic calculations for pipe sizing, system flow requirements, and pump head verification.
• Validate design parameters through engineering standards and client specifications.

3. Coordination & Documentation

• Coordinate with project engineers and site teams to capture accurate design data.
• Prepare drawing revisions, maintain document logs, and comply with QA/QC procedures.
• Ensure adherence to relevant industry codes (NFPA, TAC, API 650, ASME, etc.) where applicable.

4. Team Collaboration

• Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams for timely project deliverables.
• Support solution development, problem-solving, and technical discussions as required.

Required Skills & Competencies

• AutoCAD expertise (2D mandatory; 3D preferred).
• Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals and understanding of industrial piping systems.
• Knowledge of fire-fighting systems, water spray installations, and alarm systems.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, equipment layouts, and engineering standards.
• Team player with strong coordination skills and commitment to accuracy.
• Good analytical approach for hydraulic and pump-related calculations.
